Madame Prime Minister

With those blood shot straight eyes, sharp eyes he looks at a blank screen devising a mass shocker that still keeps the world troubled. Those eyes don’t look a screen rather act cover for a massacre happening inside his head.

He lifts his call, Madam Prime Minister! as your chief strategist I would advise plan B, I see it so clearly only God’s will can stop its perfect execution.

The symphony of destruction is laid to its perfection. A Master plan created in a meditation of a sacred marriage of hatred and serenity, peace and pure destruction.

She replies” Then why did you suggest plan A”

He pauses a second, replies “I have seen forty wars, won all of them. When I drafted Plan B It started to have a life of its own. It wrote itself, the wide destruction and massacre will change lives of men forever, there is no going back, for the first time I was scared of not failure but success.

Book Reviews

Review of Fredrick Forsyth"s "The Day of The Jackal"

One of the more and popular novels of Fredrick Forsyth,The Day of The Jackal is a thrilling chase,a race against time to catch one of the most dangerous assassins in the world.

Set in 1963, a revolutionary organization named O.A.S hires an anonymous Englishman to kill then French President General De Gaulle. The mysterious assassin codenamed "Jackal" , a remorseless and a deadly killer, a man who has no records in any police file in the world, proves to be a serious challenge to the security establishment.

The book begins with the execution of members of O .A. S who attempted to assassinate the president,it then dwells into the circumstances in which De Gaulle became the president, his ideals, his steps, the discontent among many when he grants Algeria its freedom, which in fact results in the formation of O.A.S.The plot is intriguing and the characters are well developed, Forsyth never loses the sight of the human side and he fleshes out the main characters.
But what really makes the book a page turner is the ruthless, meticulous and ultra professional "The Jackal".  As the reader dwells into the killer"s physic,  one marvels at his methods, his eye for details, his no-nonsense attitude and his cold single minded pursuit to his goal. He makes assassination look cool and stylish..
But the author even gives this cold-blooded killer a slight human element, when you get to know the fact that the "Jackal" actually wants this mission so that he can retire in the countryside in peace!!!
The reader joins the "Jackal" as he goes on for his preparation for his toughest assignment till date.Right from the weapon to his looks, his fake documents,he gets it done from the best and leaves nothing to chance and if people act funny he disposes them off quite nonchalantly!!
As one marvels the Jackal and his ways, the plot takes twist and turns as the Security agencies gets the whiff of this conspiracy,as the people who matter understand the gravity of the situation  and they appoint there finest police detective on the task. The author must be complemented that he highlighted the importance of good old police detective work, as the detective and his team tracks down the elusive, mysterious killer,it is an hell of a ride.
It tests the nerves of the people involved in the detection( and of the reader :)) interspersed with Jackal"s own journey through different parts of France, his tryst with women, the leakage of information from the security agencies, the mad chase in which the criminal seems to be always one step ahead.
All this builds into a thrilling climax, where it unfolds in a cinematic fashion..
It is a novel which makes you yearn for more,a novel which is not just for entertainment, but it coaxes the reader to use his/her brains,to have an eye for detail like the characters in the novel do.
A thrilling and a joy to read.It is a classic in its  genre. Read if you want an edge on the seat of entertainment.

*The Day of the Jackal, was published in 1971. It became an international bestseller and gained its author the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Novel.

The Mosque controversy

I have been reading articles and opnions in New York times about the proposal to build a mosque and a Islamic cultural centre near ground zero, lot of protests have flared up,a surprising devlopment in a country where relgious tolerance and freedom are truly respected unlike in many countries.I was really impressed with the deabte going in New York Times, both sides have strong views and convincing arguments. One of the arguments was which was in opposition to mosque construction was that, the Islamic centres in Muslim countries seldom profess or practice relgious tolerance or liberal views, the reader gave an example of Saudi Arbia, where no Jews are allowed to visit their Islamic Centre, and I guess whether they would welcum Hindus or Christians for that matter. He also said that a girl aged 9 or so was lashed 90 times for having a mobile phone, and a bunch of school girls were locked up in their building and set on fire for possesing sum magazines. This is the situation in one of the most powerful and richest muslim countires, and there is no doubt that majority of funds come from Saudi Arabia for building mosques and cultural centres anywhere in the world. So here is the question,is it moral and is it justified for people who are supporting the construction in the name of religious freedom, overlook the situation in muslim countries, the country of their holiest place, where neither religious not human freedom is valued and barabaric punishments are meted out for acts which even cannot be called crimes in other countries. Why the muslim groups in America or any other country who shout their voices hoarse that Islam is a peaceful religion, not once critiscize when these things happen, why they are so reluctant to embrace there adopted countries values. The case of Burqha ban in France is an example for that, they are ready to fight with the government for a practice which many liberal Muslim Scholars have condemened, using ironically the idea of religious freedom, which is alien in many Muslim countries. If we come back to the present issue, the promoters of the proposed mosque ahve not atleast started a proper dialougue with the protesters, nor made an effort to assuage the feelings of the victims, assuring them that this centre will promote reilgious harmony and make an effort to isloate fundamentals. They may win this tussle of building the mosque but the Muslim Community is going to lose its battle of restoring its image and winning the hearts of people.

A question to my fellowIndians-Are we civilized and Intellectual enough??

A freind of mine and our famous (or notorious) Ram Gopal Varma got me thinking about a topic which could be conterversial as well as disrepctful. My freind(who is an Indian) who is also my colleague always has high regards for Westren countries, there people,he almosts looks down upon India and most of the habits of our people, intially I thought he is just immature and too general in thinking but my own soul searching on this issue has made me revisit my views on this. Then I read Mr RGV"s tweets about his view on the movie Inception,as exepected he was going ga-ga over it and then he compared Hollywood to Bollywood,bt one statement that rankled me the most and made me think was that when he said,"we may not accept with our thirld world minset,bt they are far superior than us".Eventhough he primarly meant in terms of moviemaking,I thought whether it applies to other aspects of our society also? And my conclusion is may be,atleast in some aspects like how we treat our women,80% of women in this country are treated badly and abused in some way or another.Even today in cases of eve-teasing,rape and other abuse, people try to find fault in the victim, whether she dressed provcatively etc etc.Northern part of the country is worst in this regard, infact some communties in some parts of North India are notorious for ther conservative views and disgusting behaviour towards women. If you are wondering what staes and communties are these, just check out states with the most skewed ratios and ask any woman on the streets of Delhi, men of which communtiy they fear the most Delhi of course, which in its bad luck is surrounded by this backward and uncivilsed states, suffers. Then comes hygeine, most of our fellow countrymen have zero sense and reposnsibilty towards cleanliness and hygeine of their city, town or villages.I mean in which country does the govt has to plead to use toilets constructed for them and not squat in open feilds,or the plea to keep your coolers and surrondings clean to avoid dengue and malria even in cities like Delhi or to flush the toilet and not soil it as many of us have seen that in our train washrooms.Just think you need to be told to flush the toilet and not to soil it!!Our negihbouring countries like Bangladesh,Srilanka have bettr cleanliness and people have bettr awareness about it,so forget comparing to th west, going to public restrooms in India is a harrowing expeirence, not knowing what degree of filth to expect, and yes even the pay and use ones are that bad.Only in the malls do you get good hygenic restrooms. Then comes behaviour in general especially in public places, loud, potbellied men staring lecherously at women, indiscplined children runnig here and there making noisesmen and women talking loudly and spitting on roads. This charcterstics have been exhibted even in westren countires,no wonder our people are getting thrashed around:)Our marriages, especially in North, loud, crassy, creating traffic problems and nusiance to others and then from next day as we read in papers,daughter-in-law gets beaten and killed for more dowry. We are always so proud of our culture, rich and ancient which we use to inflate our egos. But here is the eye opener, that was the past,we are not even worthy succesors to the great minds of that time.Instead of following the philosophy of our great ancestors, the liberal and scientific outlook they had,we have created and follow stupid, irrevelant and backward customs and rituals and are even prepared to kill our own kin for it.And finally a bit less serious issue, the kind of TV serials and news which run on television these days, boy that makes me seriously doubt the IQ of my countrymen and countywomen especially!I mean this rubbish, the soaps, the reality shows, they are downright dumb, vulgur, loud and irritating.Women who watch these shows cannot claim to be intelligent and to be treated equally,no wonder majority of of our women get thrashed around by their husbands! Our TV media is also among the worst in the world, especially Hindi and the regional channels,Hindi is threatend not by English but by these stupid Hindi news channels, which will surely repel younger, educated and urbane audiences in time to come. Finally the kind of polticians dat get elected ,Lalu Prasad,Mamta Banarjee,DeveGowda to name a few, (barring a few good ones that too now with the younger generation taking some intrest in the electoral process)adds the icing on the cake. Now Iam gonna end this article,Iam tired of bashing:)But Iam proud many things of my country and I hope that history has shown,India has the resillance to pass through the dark times and get stronger.I think the youth of this country can and should correct the many wrongs plaguing our society, changes are visible which give us hope, but this changes are slow and painful. But Change as they say is Invetiable.

Jawaharlal nehru.A hero or a Pervert?

A picture says it all. Jawaharlal Nehru standing with Lord and Lady Mountbatten in 1948,i really don't care about the occasion
bending in front of Mountbatten and laughing. The picture itself speaks so much about Nehru's personality. He is actually trying to entertain Lady Mountbatten and the cameraman clicks just rightly
to catch this moment of shame.
Every child in this country thinks that"chacha" Nehru is a hero.A freedom fighter, the man who made sacrifices and the one loved his country and its people.Sooner or later every child loses innocence and starts finding the truth. The truth is often painful.
The last Viceroy of India had a vision.A vision to separate India and make it as miserable as it can be.The British knew this country had strong culture and most of its residents weren't foolish. So they needed a weak and desperate person and the answer is in this picture.
During Mountbatten's viceroyalty Nehru and Lady Mountbatten had an affair and this continued even after independence as Nehru visited England often.
The first prime minister,a weakling was used by British to influence many vital policies which changed the history and geography of our beautiful nation.
It was because of this affair our country was split into so many parts. The british used Nehru to to cause partition of Punjab and West Bengal.Just because of his lust the British were successful in dividing our nation. Lord Mountbatten got too much importance in policy making even after India got independence. He left Kashmir to infiltrators on advice of Mountbatten. His lust and desire cost India pok askai chin and terrible Kashmir policy.
This traitor also arranged a holocaust for the people of this nation by putting them infront of miltancy and his stupidity can be seen when he influenced Lord Red cliff who was the chairman of the Boundary commission.
He was also responsible for the SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE to a russian jail .even today our greatest freedom fighter is listed as a war criminal because of nehru.

So all those people who think he is a hero, just wait and think again.

The Forgoten Gandhi

I came across a wonderful article in a Telugu weekly magazine recently, the article was about Feroze Gandhi. He who was best knwn as the husband of Indira Gandhi, almost forgotten by the media, the country and the Gandhi family itself. Its astonishing to know that he was a parliamentarian himself and a active one at that. Those were the days of a weak opposition and a complete control on the congress party by Jawhar Lal Nehuru, nobody dare to question him on any of the issues,it was Feroze Gandhi who literally made Nehuru sweat,by his questions and critical analysis on various issues. As corruption started to spread its wings in the Nehuru Government, Feroze Gandhi regularly exposed irregularities causing serious headache to the Government and Nehuru in particular. Quite surprising considering that he himself was a member of the congress party. Feroze Ghandhi was instrumental in the creation of LIC as a public enterprise, the instution which stands for reliability today was actually used to be in the hands of a few businessmen during those days. One of the businessmen was involved in corruption and graft, which of course was brought into public domain by Feroze, when he stumbled upon this scandal along with solid evidence, Nehuru asked him not to make it open to public or discuss in parliament, but Feroze stood his ground.Because of Feroze's stand, the culprit was arrested and LIC was converted into a public enterprise. This antagonized Nehuru to a large extent, apart from the fact that initially Feroze refused to accept Nehru's invitation to him and his wife Indira,to join him. Feroze also questioned Nehru's "undemocratic" ways in suppressing communist movements, including encounters and dismissing of democratically elected communist government in Kerla. His efforts actually resulted in a legislation which allowed MP's to question and discuss freely in the parliament. All this had consequences of course with defaming stories about Feroze started to appear in newspapers,he was accused of being a alcoholic and a womanizer. His fight with the government took toll on his health and at the young age of 47 he died due to a cardiac arrest, alone separated from his family by the man whom he fought major part of his life. It's 50 years now,the least we can do is to remember him.
